I like Elle’s storyline in Heartstopper, transitioning to an
all-girls school and finding a place where she belongs as a trans girl,
in a much more uplifting way than other typical trans characters on
screen. I also love her passion for art. To capture all these aspects of
Elle, I transformed her name into a butterfly in an artistic style. The
butterfly symbolizes her life transformation and how art serves as a
form of self-expression for her.
