Final Destination Bloodlines, 2025 - ★★★★

I had an absolute blast watching Final Destination: Bloodlines. It was my first experience with the Final Destination franchise, and I only knew a little about the premise. I found it quite entertaining, so much so that I am considering going back to watch all the Final Destination movies.
The opening sequence immediately hooked me, leaving me on the edge of my seat with a sense of suspense and anticipation The tension builds brilliantly, and the execution is impeccable—creating a sense of impending dread. A standout element for me was actress Brec Bassinger, whom I admire from her role in Stargirl. Seeing her again was a delightful surprise, and she truly excelled in her performance here.
Part of me wishes the entire movie had revolved around that incredible opening sequence, as both the setting and execution were spot-on.
The main story, in my opinion, a bit paled in comparison to the opening sequence. It seemed to lose the intensity and mystery that the opening had promised. The narrative unfolded too quickly, revealing each character's fate prematurely. This early revelation diminished the suspense, detracting from the thrill of guessing the next death and plot twist.
That said, the film's imaginative and appalling character demises were brilliantly executed, showcasing its knack for thrilling, edge-of-your-seat entertainment. While it may not offer groundbreaking storytelling, the sheer entertainment value of its execution kept me thoroughly engaged, appreciating every grim, well-orchestrated moment.
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed this movie. Though the story itself may not be particularly special, the film's execution was impressive. Every gruesome death was intense and utterly entertaining.
