Hey there! If you’ve been following me, you may have noticed that I’ve been doing my lettering challenge this month to pursue my passion for lettering. If you haven't, you can check it out here!
If you’ve been wondering why I haven’t posted my lettering in the last few days, there are a few reasons, but the most important one is that I've been facing some challenges with my iPad. It's struggling to keep up, crashing left and right, and my storage space is disappearing faster than I can delete things 🙈
The Work The Inspiration
"The 1" is the song that got me into Taylor Swift's music. I deeply resonate with everything about it. I feel like the song perfectly captures the feelings of longing and regret over a past love that you consider the best you've ever experienced. It encapsulates the bittersweet nature of "what-ifs" and the slow progress of moving on, while still clinging to the idea of being the one they’d choose in the end.
The Work This is my lettering piece inspired by the song "Man In The Mirror", with the image from Cottonbro Studio. The Inspiration
Despite our different music tastes, my family and I can always agree on one artist—Michael Jackson. One of my most cherished memories is singing his music in the car together.
"Man in The Mirror" is a personal favorite of mine. Its message of taking charge of our lives and actions resonates with me.
The Work My lettering design for the song "Come Alive."
My lettering design for the song "Come Alive." The Inspiration The Greatest Showman is one of the best cinematic experiences for me. The film's energy made me pumped and ready to conquer the world. Although I wanted to sing "From Now On" at the top of my lungs on the way home, I didn't want to seem like an even bigger weirdo.
The Work This is the lettering piece based on the song Grow As We Go by Ben Platt
The lettering piece based on the song Grow As We Go by Ben Platt The Inspiration Combining Ben Platt’s divine voice with the wonderful lyrics, and you get one of the most beautiful songs ever. I appreciate the message of "Grow As We Go". You don’t have to grow alone; you should allow people to grow together with you so that you can have each other’s backs.
The Work The draft of my lettering design for Visiting Hours by Ed Sheeran The Inspiration I have been a fan of Ed Sheeran since his first album. While his recent music may not resonate with me as much personally, I still enjoy listening to his songs on repeat.
However, I must say that "Visiting Hours" is his masterpiece. It is incredibly emotional and powerful; I could feel his emotions in every moment of the song.
The Work My Lettering Design for Drive It Like You Stole It by Sing Street Movie The Inspiration
The movie “Sing Street” is a delightful mix of coming of age, music, rock band passion, romance, and friendship—truly a gem. But the best part of this movie is the soundtrack!!
I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't watched it yet.
The song "To Find You" from its soundtrack album stole my heart.
The Work The Inspiration
After listening to her album "Folklore", I recently became a Taylor Swift fan, realizing her charm and the lyrical genius she is. I now totally get why she's so famous. It took me a while to realize how great she is, but it's better late than never.
Among all her songs, the song "All Too Well" stands out as a true masterpiece. Its lyrics and imagery beautifully captured the essence of a complicated relationship.
The Work This is the lettering design inspired by the song "You're Not The One"
The Inspiration Chester See's music hits differently with those emotional vocals in his songs. "You're Not The One" had me in tears the first time I heard it, and it's still on my mind to this day. It's just such a heartbreaking song about letting go of someone who can't see you as their person, no matter how hard you try to make them see it.
The Work My design inspired by Best Fake Smile by James Bay The Inspiration I've always been a fan of James Bay's music. His songs hit home for me. There's just such a variety in his music and one that stood out to me for my lettering design is the song "Best Fake Smile". The message in that song is great, you can pretend everything's cool but deep down it's eating you away.
The Work The Inspiration Inspired by John Legend's song "Everybody Knows," I created this lettering design. I had a phase where I only exclusively listened to John Legend's music for months. His voice was very soothing and comforting to me.
This song holds a special place in my heart as it talks about how people act like they have all the answers, but in reality, who knows what would actually happen if things changed?
The Work My design inspired by In A Song by Hunter Hayes The Inspiration Today's design is inspired by Hunter Hayes's song "In A Song". This song is featured in my playlist "These Songs Saved My Life" because it genuinely saved me during a tough time. Listening to it gave me the sense of hope to keep going despite the pain and emotions I was feeling. You sometimes wish you could change the past, but in reality, doing so would only mess things up further.
The Work The Inspiration
While I Still Got The Time by Darius Rucker is the song I listen to on my birthdays, to remind myself how to live a life to the fullest, not a life filled with regrets.
No more excuses and no more me doing things wrong
Life is too short baby; I have wasted ours for too long
And baby from now on
I am going to work like I do not need the money
The Work The design inspired by Never Forget You by Lupe Fiasco The Inspiration This design was inspired by the rhymes in “Never Forget You” by Lupe Fiasco. These lines don't capture the essence of the song, but I absolutely love them. The wordplay in these lines is so beautifully written and emphasizes the importance of moving forward while cherishing our milestones and achievements. It perfectly sums up how we should live our lives—celebrating our achievements, staying focused on doing our best, always aiming to improve, and continuing to move forward towards our goals.

Throughout my life, I have been shy and socially awkward. One thing that always boosts me up is listening to "Self Esteem" by Nelly. It's been a staple in my playlist since I first stumbled upon it, to hype me up and boost my confidence. You see my self-esteem, I'm never leavin' home without it
They told me I'd never make it, they told me I ain't doubt it
The Finished Project The funky version of my design for Brandon's Journal. I never thought my first commission would come this fast. Just roughly two weeks into my lettering journey!
Well, technically, I did a lettering for an album cover years ago. But that was for my close friend, so I don't think that counts. 😄
I had planned to build up my portfolio before taking on commissions, but my first one came quicker than expected.
The Work My design inspired by What If I Never Get Over You By Lady A The Inspiration Sometimes what truly haunts you is not the past love, but the not knowing if your next love will ever come when you still hang up on the memories you once had with that person. I liked that sentiment from the song "What If I Never Get Over You" by Lady A.
The Work
When you look at the design from afar, you’d see the “Hurt” first, but once you look more closely, the “Love” will be the center of attention with a much more prominent color. This is to show that love is always the point in relationships, despite all the challenges that come with it. The Inspiration There are a lot of great lyrics from OneRepublic, especially from their early albums.
I woke up early and couldn't fall back asleep, so I decided to give my old work a glow-up. I added some vignettes and used new techniques I recently learned, especially about patterns inside the letters. My logo pops now, maybe even a little too much. But I love it!

The Work My Lettering Design for Written in the Scars by The Script. The Inspiration The Script is my favorite band ever, they have been my favorite band since their first album. I have such fond memories of listening to their music growing up and I even attended every concert they played in my hometown. I was devastated when I heard about Mark Sheehan's passing. Their music has such a powerful impact on me, it can make me laugh, cry, break my heart, and heal my soul.
The Work
My Lettering Design for Life's For The Living by Passenger.
The Inspiration In my opinion, Passenger is a lyrical genius because of his poetic ways of portraying life's ups and downs. And his album, All The Little Lights, is one of my favorite albums of all time. One particular song that has left a lasting impression on me is "Life’s for The Living." It is a gentle nudge to shift our focus from dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, and instead embrace the here and now.
The Work My Lettering design for Thinking of Me by Olly Murs The Inspiration
This song, "Thinking of Me" by Olly Murs, seems like your typical pop tune at first listen. But, if you pay attention, there are some pretty profound lyrics in there about not dwelling on what's gone but cherishing the good times instead. It's a reminder that not every love story lasts forever. Some ended too late, some too soon.
I have been daily lettering ever since April 19, which marks the beginning of my journey into the lettering world. These are the daily sketches from April 19, the day I started lettering, to April 30. Each day presented its own challenges and triumphs, pushing me to think outside the box and experiment with different styles and concepts in lettering. From logo design to inspirational quotes, each piece has its own story to tell.
The Work The Inspiration
Angel with a Shotgun by The Cab holds a special place in my heart as one of my all-time favorite songs. Its infectious energy and emotion have always resonated with me on a deep level. The contrast between holding a shotgun and spreading the angel wings added a dramatic effect in the very best way. It symbolized the fierce determination and protective instinct one might feel for a loved one.
The Work The Inspiration The inspiration for this lettering comes from Kameron Marlowe's song "Sober as a Drunk." I came across the song randomly a few years back, and was captivated by its expressive lyrics and analogies. The clever wordplay of "I'm as sober as drunk, I'm as high as rock bottom", capturing the essence of a person in denial so perfectly. The music is great too, flowing flawlessly and making it a fun song to sing.
The WorkMy Lettering Design for the song "Oh, What a Life" by American Authors The Inspiration "Oh, What a Life" by American Authors is hands down one of my favorite songs ever. In fact, the whole album, also named "Oh, What a Life", is my favorite of all time. It's the type of album where every track flows so nicely, that you never even think about skipping a song.
Hey there, welcome to Lettering with Ning! I've been into typography and lettering since I was a kid. I even made my own crappy fonts when I was like 12!! Back then, typography design wasn't a big thing in Thailand, until, ฟอนต์.คอม (f0nt.com) was founded. Then, there was a surge of enthusiastic people. I was on the first wave of it all because I couldn't stand the boring typefaces on my computer!
⭐ One line for 2024-04-01: I spent the whole day doing lettering while feeling sick, and to end the day, I listened to Taylor Swift's new album "Tortured Poet Department."
I planned to make a wall art for my room using a line from Taylor Swift's song "Innocent." The lyric goes, "Today is never too late to be brand new," and I love it. I thought it would be nice to have that reminder every day, so that's the quote I went with.
